Side by Side

They lie on the table side by side
The Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
One is well worn and cherished with Pride.
Not the Bible, but the TV Guide.
One is used daily to help folks decide.
No, not he Bible, but the TV Guide.
As the pages are turned, what shall they see.
So they open the book in which they confide.
No, not the Bible, but the TV Guide.

The Word of God is seldom read.
Maybe a verse before they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be.
Not from reading the Bible, from watching TV.

So then back to the table side by side,
Lie the Holy Bible and the TV Guide.
No time for prayer, no time for the word,
The plan of salvation is seldom heard.
But forgiveness of sin, so full and free,
Is found in the Bible, no on TV

What you do in private really counts !

One day, my husband went to the supermarket to buy some groceries. He walked up to the cashier later to pay for the goods he picked up on the trolley. After paying for the goods he walked and drove home. My husband discovered that the cashier forgot or rather carelessly overlooked to punch the price of a bottle of honey which cost RM8.90. Initially, he hesitated whether he should go back to the supermarket to inform the cashier about it. Free honey, who can resist the temptation! He made up his mind on the same day. After al, it was only a small sum! Busyness kept him away and he almost forgot about the honey until my mother in law asked him to buy a black sauce. He remembered and took the opportunity to inform the supervisor on duty in the supermarket about the honey. My husband felt good about this and guess what, the supermarket rewarded him with free bottle of orange juice for his action! My husband could have easily kept the bottle of honey and enjoyed it for free, but instead he displayed integrity that no amount of money can buy.

Spending quality time

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door. " Daddy, may I ask a question? " Yes, sure, what is it? " replied the man. " Daddy, how much money do you earn an hour?"

"That's none of your business. What makes you ask such a thing? " the man said angrily. " I just want to know. Please tell me, How much do you earn an hour? " pleaded the little boy. If you must know, I make RM 20.00 an hour." " Oh," " Daddy, can I borrow RM 1O.00, Please?

The father was furious. " If the only reason you wanted to know how much money I make it is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you may march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think why you' re being so self. I work long , hard hours everyday and don't have time for such childish games."

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boy's questioning. How dare he ask such questions to only get some money. After an hour or so, the man calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with RM 10.00 and he didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. " Are you asleep son? " he asked. "No daddy, I'm awake, replied the boy. " I've been thinking maybe I was too hard on you earlier, " said the man.

It's been a long day and I took my aggravation out 0n you. Here's that RM 10.00 you asked for." The little boy sat straight up, beaming. " Oh, thank you daddy" he yelled reaching under his pillow, he out pulled out some more ringgit notes and slowly counted out his money. The man seeing the boy already had money, started again. " Why did you want more money if you already had some? " the father grumbled.

"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do, the little boy replied. " Daddy , I have RM 20.00 now, Can I buy an hour of your time? "

LIPSTICK INFORMATION

Something to consider next time you go shopping for lipstick. This comes from someone who works in the breast cancer unit at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto : Dr. Nahid Neman

If there is an female in your life share this with her. I did !

Recently there was a lipstick brand called " Red Earth"

Decreased their prices from $67 t0 $ 9.90.

It contained lead. Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.

The lipstick brands that contain lead are :

Christain Diorlancome
Clinique
Y.S.L
Estee Lauder
Shiseido
Red Earth ( Lip Gloss )
Chanel ( Lip Conditioner )

Market America-Montnes Lipstick. The higher the lead content, the great the chance of causing cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.SL lipstick contained the most amount of lead..Watch out for those lipsticks which are supposed to stay longer. If your lipstick stays longer it contains lead.

Here is a test you can do yourself :

1) Put some lipstick on your hand.
2) Use a gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3) If the lipstick color changes to black, then you know the lipstick contains lead.

People please share this information with every women in your life.
